RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-11-2017

I will invite my good friends the Voyagers, who have been having a rough time of it recently and need a break.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Granolaman - 03-11-2017

2 ships from VoyA, 2 from VoyB will accept this olive olive branch.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - ProfessorLizzard - 03-11-2017

Inviting statuses:

Tourist invites Voyager
Yin-yang invites everyone.

1. Voyager accept Tourist with 4 ships.
2. Laser is invited on the defense.
3. Reactor is invited on the defense..

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-11-2017

Hey uh,
It's too late for me to say this now I guess but,
you know that Reactor can play their flare and win the game if their side wins any encounter right?

If Reactor decides to accept your invitation and you win this defence, you lose the game.
Fortunately if Reactor or Laser accept the invitation but lose the defence, I'm pretty sure they lose their foreign colony in your system, so it's going to be your hopefully shitty card + whatever ships Reactor decides to send, I guess. Because I can't see why the Laser would want to help out here.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Granolaman - 03-11-2017

YinYang is currently in possession of the Reactor Flare, so yeah while Laser probably doesn't want to help out here, it's to prevent a YinYang victory instead of a Reactor one.

I think you actually could've safely invited everyone on this invasion since the Reactor and Laser wouldn't gain any new colonies, the Super Reactor wouldn't go off, and it'd be a stronger force to prevent a successful YinYang defense/victory.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-11-2017

I guess I missed the part where he stole that, somehow.
Well, I'm pretty confident I can beat his card anyway so that's fine.

...but if we knew that, I have to question again why I was the target of the "discard a flare" card :V
It would only have gone away for like a few turns before dropping back into Reactor's hand, but that's more than no turns!

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Coldblooded - 03-11-2017

[The Lasers all collectively look up from their rulebooks while slowly easing their hands off the Super Laser flare.]

Shit, they're right. There's no rule that says an alien can't play basketball.

Let's just pretend that it was because Gatr would have discarded the Yin-Yang flare instead of the Reactor one, and not because I'm a huge idiot who wasn't keeping track of who had which cards.

The Lasers are good out here for this one, thanks.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-11-2017

At least I'm not the only huge idiot who didn't know who had which cards.

The Laser and Reactor colonies are bystanders, and would not be lost, even if Laser and Reactor sent ships to help defend that planet.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-11-2017

Well that post was already half wrong, it might as well be all wrong.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Robust Laser - 03-12-2017

Yeah sure I'll send three from Yin-Yang C and 1 from my B.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Robust Laser - 03-12-2017

it's nothing personal i'm just looking for a card refill

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-12-2017

I guess you like... just don't want those ships any more?
Very confusing.

You know that if Defence wins, he plays your flare, gets a free colony, and the game ends right? There is no situation here where you get rewards out of this.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Robust Laser - 03-12-2017

Oh. Okay I was misreading some things and continuing to get confused when the word 'Laser' gets said.

I assist nobody with nothing.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - ProfessorLizzard - 03-12-2017

Well then, it is time to send in your Cards.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - ProfessorLizzard - 03-12-2017

Tourist played 20!
Yin-yang played 06!

If there are no objections, Tourist and Voyager will settle on the planet of Yin-yangA.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-12-2017

Sure!

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - ProfessorLizzard - 03-12-2017

Well then, time for Regroup phase.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-12-2017

I regroup one ship to Tourist A.
Alas, my symmetry ruined :(

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - ProfessorLizzard - 03-12-2017

Done! Destiny is Green. Do you want to boot someone off one of your planets, or redraw?

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-12-2017

I would like to redraw.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - ProfessorLizzard - 03-13-2017

A Wild is drawn. Please select your victim.

After that, move your cruiseship.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Jacquerel - 03-13-2017

Damn I didn't actually want this choice, it's tricky >_>
I could force the game to end right now if I wanted to, pretty easily, by just attacking the Yin-Yang again.
But then I actually have to decide how many other people should get the chance to win with me (or go out in a blaze of glory if Gatr reveals a secret big card but lbr he would have used it in the previous encounter). Or if I should just do something else entirely.

I guess I start my first day at my new job today, so I'm going to delay making a decision to give everyone a chance to dissuade me from doing something stupid or perhaps persuade me to do something stupid.

RE: Cosmic Encounter - PBP: Deep Space Water - Robust Laser - 03-13-2017

whatever you do, let it be known

that if i can come along i can play reinforcements
