I might be kidding. I still don't know.
...idea!
Okay, contestants (you still can even if you're dead, I suppose)
Send me an idea for the next area.
You aren't going to be breaking out and meeting the director or anything, I've got plans for that later on.
Anyway, everybody PM me an interesting setting, and I'll put together the next location as sort of a strange combination of them. It should be interesting.

SpoilerI sent my suggestion.
In-story, you could describe the area as being created from the minds of the Director's underlings, or something like that. Since the between-rounds dialogue suggests they're "us", sort of.

Emily look at the beast everyone was fighting so viciously. To think that it had once been a normal man.
Emily turned to look at her wound. There was no chance it would heal. It was strange. She had always thought death would be painful, but oddly it was somehow serene. Maybe it was her magic that was keeping the pain away, but that didn't explain the lack of emotional turmoil she was experiencing.
She had thought she'd have more than a few regrets while looking back on her life. However her only regrets were for those she knew she could not save. She didn't feel any turmoil over Nathan. He still had a chance. Nor did she feel pity for the few who had died under her care, for they were long gone.
Her thoughts mainly lingered on Luther. It was no doubt a demon, but she had seen the man it had been before...and she could do nothing to help that man.
She turned to Aeon. Now that her plan to save Luther had failed she had to resort to her secondary plan. "Aeon," she said as loud as she could. Apparently it had been loud enough because Aeon turned almost immediately after. Almost as if he'd been waiting.
Emily looked into his eyes and saw he understood. No doubt he'd thought of the same plan.
She began to speak, but Aeon cut her off. "You want to die now don't you?" Emily nodded. "You hope that just maybe it might reset. Maybe the monster will disappear in the next round like some of the other things Luther has summoned." Emily nodded again.
Aeon bow his head. "I hope you've made your peace," he said as he raised his spear.
"Wait," Emily shouted at him. "Use your tool. I still have healing energy in me. Use your tool to take it. You'll need it."
Aeon sighed and shook his head. "I was planning to. I just thought you might find the spear more fitting."
Emily didn't say anything she merely looked up at the sky. At the same moon the man had stared at before becoming a monster.
Aeon took this as a signal and readied his adaptive tool. As the energy drained out of Emily she issued one last order to Aeon.
"Take care of Nathan. He still has a life to live. One none of us others deserve."

SpoilerAnd with that it's officially goodbye to Emily. I hope you guys enjoyed reading about her as much as I enjoyed writing for her.

SpoilerWell done, Pawn. You lost the round, but you ended it with style. Your last two posts were excellently done. I'm going to miss Emily, and I don't think I'm alone in that.
I hope you'll stick around to watch how it all turns out, even if you won't be writing for it any more.

SpoilerIt doesn't have to be overly detailed. I just described the overall terrain in my suggestion, so you could describe a group of buildings or a significant landmark or something.
Or heck, describe what the sky looks like. You can include a purple sun if you want!

SpoilerAll this death have gotten me in a thinking mood. Lutherion is a very mysterious character... On the outside, he is a psychotic, mind-less demon hell spawn, bend on becoming a god of death. But inside, his real self is in vast amounts of pain. He wants to be freed from the terrifying curse that he made on himself, yet the psychotic part of him is too strong. As shown with what Emily did to him, he really is sorry for all the chaos and destruction he is doing. He is watching it all through his "brain brothers" Psychotic and destroyed eyes. hmmm...

SpoilerIndeed, Lutherion has alot of potential with that internal conflict. But with our healer gone, it might be a fair bit harder to 'awaken' his human half.
By the way, what's going to happen to the Festering Behemoth in the warp? Or are we close enough to destroying it before that?

SpoilerStrategically, it would be ideal if we either killed Lutherion or somehow restored him to sanity by the time we go after the Director.
Of course, that also means there's a lot of fun to be had if we don't manage either...

SpoilerYou can suggest anyway. The idea for the next area is that all of The Gentlemen (which is what I have just decided the people with The Director will be called) suggested something for The Director to mold the next area after, and that's why it's an amalgam of them all.

SpoilerI honestly have no idea whether that breaks the fourth wall or not.
Eh, I don't really have any good ideas anyway. The only thing I can come up with is an inverted planet (everyone walking on the inside of a sphere) or a place with Escher-like physics.

That is now my suggestion, though there still needs to be a sun for Amethyst to recover. The difference color makes actually isn't that big, but purple would give her something of a power boost, so I'd avoid it.

Another of The Gentlemen stood up. Pon DeFor.
"Well, I suppose I could have done worse," Pon said.
"True, true. Good pick you made, by the way. Say, did you write your suggestion down for the next round?
"That I did. I'll be off, then!"
"So long then, Pon."
Pon left the room. Six men remained in the dark abode.
"Now, everybody give me your slips. The next round should prove interesting."
Each contestant suddenly found themselves on a different cube. The world they found themselves in now consisted entirely of them. It was some strange white space, where perfect white cubes drifted everywhere. It simply seemed to go on forever.
Show Content
SpoilerEXPLANATION TIMEZ!
Quote:An area made entirely of perfect, constantly moving cubes.
This is where you are starting. Pretty simple. One one of the cube is something described in the next area idea.
Quote:I just wanted to suggest a sort of pop up book world. Where the pages turn about every thirty minutes.
Now, it's not going to change every thirty minutes. However I like this idea of a popup book world, and here's how it works. Each of the following (and the previous) suggestion are on different 'pages' of the popup book. The cube world is page one. Except for on the first and last 'pages' there are two triggers somewhere. One trigger turns the world to the previous page, and one trigger turns it to the next page. For example, on the cube world, one single cube may have a switch on it. This switch will suddenly cause the world to 'fold in' on itself, and the players will then find themselves situated in the next world, in approximately proportional distances of where they were before relative to each other.
Now for more popup inspiration, there are multiple triggers in each world. These triggers cause some sort of event to happen. Perhaps there's something like a slider in the cube world, where some cubes can be manually controlled of their path. Whatever the popup triggers are in each world are up to you. Get creative.
Quote:The next area should have a crystal in the middle that instantly heals all damage dealt to the contestants. It could either start automatically, or start once someone triggers it. Regardless, someone will have to break the crystal in order to stop its effect and allow someone else to die.
This world is lush. Green. Beautiful. Blue sky, tall trees (that create an impassable border around the area. INVISIBLE WALLS :O) and in the center is a giant crystal. All damage done while the crystal is activated on this page is instantly healed. If you go to a different page while the crystal is active, it's a slower healing effect. If you're two pages away, then the healing effect is even slower.
Quote:A large, barren wasteland. If you walk far enough in any direction, you'll come to an ocean. So basically, it's an entire continent of wasteland.
It's a small continent, though. Basically it's possible to get from side A to side B relatively quickly. There's radioactive waste around, too, sort of implying what might have happened here, had it not been completely fabricated. Not that the players know that it was entirely fabricated, since the other locations were just 'snatched up' by the director.
Quote:a place with Escher-like physics.
This is the last page, and it's a world where perspective rules all. Basically, whatever looks like it could work actually will work. Neverending stairs, an uphill stream, it's all valid. And yeah, you can walk upside down and sideways and such. Expect much confusion.
I hope this isn't actually too much to work with. I was originally going to combine them all into one world, but the popup book thing gave me the idea for having each world be a different page.
