once a great wind blew through these plains
shaking the leaves of every tree it rushed pass

it is quiet now in the time of eagles and almost everything is still

clouds continue to pass just as they always have

my time with the eagles was well spent 

though i often became intimidated at their stature

small as they might’ve been

 how they called to each other

i watched and tried to mimic them

perhaps i was one of them for a time

 but clouds continue to pass just as they always have
