Re: Gridlocking Revision: Signups - g0m - 07-18-2011

Alright, collating game data and randomizing graph piece. Then we'll be able to START!

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Signups - g0m - 07-19-2011

Knask, your starter piece is the pawn. A simple enough option for early players, the pawn's short range of movement and simplistic capturing style mean that anyone can pick it up. However, don't be fooled by the pawn's initial weak nature! In the hands of a veteran competitor, the pawn can wreak havoc among all but the most seasoned competitors. Top tip: Moving the pawn to the last row on the board allows the pawn to assume the form of any other piece! Choose wisely, however: This ability can only be utilized once.

Dragon Fogel, your starter piece is Professor Plum. A curmudgeonly sort, this man's life was thrust into disarray following the murder of his close friend, Dr. Black, in his own mansion. He has only one night to find the killer and bring them to justice! To do so, he must identify the murder weapon, the scene of the crime, and finally, the killer themselves. Sound daunting? Don't worry! Experienced players know that hidden passages in the four corner rooms allow easy traversal of the mansion.

MrGuy, your starter piece is the Scottish Terrier [or "Scottie"]. A wonderful choice for the more economically minded player, this precocious pup's main skills include the buying of land, investment in utilities, and the development of housing estates. While the easy opportunities for extorting money from other players may make the Scottie seem like an overpowered role, it's important to be wary of jail! There are three ways you can go to jail: from chance card, from the "Go to Jail" space, and from rolling three doubles in a row.

cyber95, your starter piece is the Artillery. A dab hand at both attacking and defending, the Artillery unit is at home in any army. It's quite a powerhouse, as it's worth the same as ten Infantry units. Despite it's power, however, in many situations it's more useful to use Infantry, or Cavalry, instead- if only due to the hassle of constantly swapping it out for ten Infantry when attacked. Top Tip: When you control a large area of territory, move your Artillery to the edges, so as to better defend yourself.

6,5 sounds good.

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Knask - 07-20-2011

Move pawn to 3,4 and build a barrack at 3,5

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - MaxieSatan - 07-20-2011

> Purchase real estate in current square. If funds allow, build BUNKER.

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Dragon Fogel - 07-20-2011

>Begin grading papers.

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Robust Laser - 07-20-2011

I take over the square to the south of me.

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - g0m - 07-20-2011

Knask moves to 3,4 and begins building a barrack. It will be built in three turns.

MrGuy spends $200 on a house in his current square, leaving him with $1300 in his treasury.

A bunker cannot be built this turn, as property must be owned on all three squares in a given sector before any level 2 properties may be constructed.

Professor Plum begins grading papers. With the sheer volume of papers to finish, it will take 3 turns of uninterrupted work to complete the task.

cyber95 takes over the square below him. A name and flag for his empire may now be selected.

The random number generator has selected 2.

TURN TWO START

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Dragon Fogel - 07-20-2011

I guess I keep grading!

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Knask - 07-20-2011

Pawn: Move to 4,4 and put up a camp for the night.

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - MaxieSatan - 07-20-2011

> List Available Properties
> Move to 5,5 and purchase land.

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Robust Laser - 07-21-2011

>Declare nation to be the Republic of Artillia!

>Draw a Risk card

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - g0m - 07-21-2011

Knask moves to 4,4 and uses up the once-a-game ability [that everyone gets] of camping, making him immune to all attacks for the next turn.

Professor Plum continues grading papers. He's 2/3 of the way done!

MrGuy uses this turn to move to 5,5 and purchase land on that grid square.

The properties available for purchase by MrGuy are all of the Level 1 properties: Namely, the standard house, the battered motel, the circular wonder-house, and the standard tower. Level 2 properties are, currently, unknown.

cyber95, of the glorious people's Republic of Artillia, draws a Risk Card. He now has one Risk Card.

"THE LOVERS" has been drawn. I don't know what tarot cards mean.

TURN THREE START

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Dragon Fogel - 07-21-2011

>Finish grading!

Re: Gridlocking Revision: Game! - Robust Laser - 07-21-2011

I tap my Risk card and us it to place an allied forest to the east tile of me. Due to the Lovers card being drawn, the forest is filled with pathways. It is easy to get lost if you make the incorrect choice.
