Roast Quest - fourwalls - 06-26-2019 ![]() CONTENT WARNING Roast Quest MAY contain the following ingredients, depending on YOUR choices: Cannibalism, Crazy Mutations, Cartoon blood. ![]() You are Lil' Critter, and you've had enough grass to last a lifetime. You're looking for something with a little more kick to it. Something with spice. Something with some real meat. You want to become a Carnivore. A few obstacles are standing in front of your meat-based goals. You've compiled them in your Critter Brainzone. Firstly, you have no clue where to find meat - where does it grow? Secondly, you have no way to catch meat - biological or otherwise. Thirdly, you have no effective way to chew meat - you'll need to make sure it's cut into small pieces first. But of course, these setbacks can't stop you! What will you do to acquire your first piece of meat? > __ RE: Roast Quest - Arcanuse - 06-26-2019 >Find some real fruits and/or veggies. More nutrients than grass. >...What? It's not grass. Gotta get those nutrients to get stronger to go hunt meat. RE: Roast Quest - FlanDab - 06-26-2019 >Search it on the internet. RE: Roast Quest - Reyweld - 06-26-2019 >Get the stump's meat RE: Roast Quest - typeandkey - 06-26-2019 >Gain sustenance from the air alone. RE: Roast Quest - RandomLurker - 06-27-2019 >What are those red things, ants? That totally counts as meat, lick 'em up. RE: Roast Quest - Numbers - 06-27-2019 > if you have had enough grass to last a lifetime, you must therefore be dead due to already having had one's lifetime's share of grass > scavenge oneself's corpse RE: Roast Quest - fourwalls - 06-27-2019 Quote:>Gain sustenance from the air alone. ![]() You take a hearty whiff of the air, hoping to collect some protein particles. You can feel dust settling within your stomach! Could this powdery rush be the taste of meat? You hope so. ![]() Your protein receptacle fills to about a quarter way. It's a start! Quote:>What are those red things, ants? That totally counts as meat, lick 'em up. ![]() You eye the meat beetle dubiously. Could it hurt you? Could you die? ![]() You sniff it a little. It doesn't seem like it poses a threat. You're going to eat it in the name of science! ![]() You send the meat beetle down the hatch.
![]() Your protein receptacle fills. You've unlocked one mutation point. ![]() You've heard about mutation points before! Carnivores use them to grow new body parts, enhance the old ones, and generally crush the competition. Of course, you're just Lil' Critter. You don't know if mutations will have the full effect. You don't know if they work at all! What should you try mutating for your first time? > __ RE: Roast Quest - Schazer - 06-27-2019 TEETH RE: Roast Quest - Numbers - 06-27-2019 >LEGS RE: Roast Quest - sprïly - 06-27-2019 beautiful fur to keep you warm and trap unsuspecting prey. RE: Roast Quest - Myeth - 06-27-2019 BEAUTIFUL SMILE RE: Roast Quest - typeandkey - 06-27-2019 >Constant Neverending Poison Secretion. RE: Roast Quest - a52 - 06-27-2019 maybe like. SOME FUCKING EYES jesus christ RE: Roast Quest - fourwalls - 06-27-2019 Quote: ![]() There's no need! You have an eye right smack dab on the side of your head. You've got skin flaps to protect it from the elements.
Quote: ![]() You aim for the best of both worlds - your fangs drip with a slow-acting paralytic venom.
You'll probably need more mutations to increase its potency, though. ![]() You've probably hunted all you can in this location. The other meat beetles seem to have scurried off. In response, you pull open your brainzone's island map. ![]() You haven't seen much of the world yet, but on your southern travels with Mama Critter, you encountered vast swathes of sand. She called them beaches - and advised you to stay away. To the north is the mainland. You've heard massive carnivore settlements called cities exist farther north. You could also explore more of the forest if you feel like you need more protein. Where should you go, and why? > __ RE: Roast Quest - Schazer - 06-27-2019 Beaches are littered with rocks, underneath which slow and crawling things live that you might EAT RE: Roast Quest - sprïly - 06-27-2019 go even further... seek out the mythical 'seafood'. go into the ocean RE: Roast Quest - CherryPetrichor - 06-27-2019 Surely we can overtake any dangers we find at the beach with our newfound fangs Roast Quest - fourwalls - 06-27-2019 Quote: ![]() You arrive at the beach. The air is salty and fresh.
Tiny creatures with sharp-looking appendages skitter around.
![]() You wade in the water. It feels warm, tingly.
You could get used to this!
Quote: ![]() You knock your head against the rock. It doesn't move... Maybe you should go after the sharp-looking beasts. You've never been in a fight, and you're a bit scared, but you haven't gotten this far by giving up. Should you approach the sharp ones? If so, what should your tactic be? > __ RE: Roast Quest - TerraTorment - 06-27-2019 >try flipping the sharp ones upside down RE: Roast Quest - Will Phoenix - 06-27-2019 >Flip them upside down and stab one with your poison fang. Do it quickly, or else you’ll get pinched! RE: Roast Quest - ReedRGale - 06-27-2019 > Do not approach the sharp ones quite yet. Their meat is somewhat guarded and your fangs likely cannot pierce their brittle torso to inflict grievous wounds RE: Roast Quest - Panur - 06-27-2019 > Find a stick, hold it with your mouth and use it to turn the creature's upside down RE: Roast Quest - smuchmuch - 06-27-2019 > Look closer at the sparp ones. But not too close (I assume the sharp ones are curstacean like from their placement, name and general appearance and thus have a shall and all but that's an assumption. With the degree of detail we have, for all we know they're just actualy could be soft red balls with pointy legs. Probaly shouldnt assume that all lifefroms here are earth like.) >If they're tough, you wont be able to crunch through their shells without very strong jaws or limbs, so go search for softer prey.
