RE: [Tele Trek] Adventures in Placeholding - CosmicClaxon - 04-17-2019

Hello!

With the Fortuna subforum closing, I thought this would be a good opportunity to start over. There's a number of things I want to fix in order to make Tele Trek a better experience both creating and, hopefully, reading! Tele Trek's story is early enough in that this feels feasible. For everyone who tuned into Tele Trek's original conception, thank you so much for being part of the ride. You've encouraged me to continue this story instead of axing it once times got tough.

Tele Trek's redux will hit most of the same story beats and contain a lot of familiar faces. However, there's one thing I'd like to get opinions on before this train gets rolling...

We'll be revisiting the tutorial, which means we'll also be revisiting character creation. As readers, would you rather choose:

Option 1 - Backtracking
We use the same crew with the same traits, designs, and backstories as before (Quinn, Coreen, Marcel, M.R.). While this limits reader input until a few updates in, these characters have been developed quite a bit outside the original script, with possibilities stretching all the way to the end of the story. Reusing them would allow faster and more cohesive scripting.

or

Option 2 - True Reset
We go hog wild and use blank slates! As before, some character information will already be filled in, but readers will be able to participate right away come update 1.

LET US ERASE THIS POINTLESS WORLD

I like Quinn too much. I would choose 1 myself, but like...2 if at least some part of Quinn was still around. But that's just me, I'm a dork.

Wait... the Fortuna subforum is closing? That's a bit of a shock. I don't visit it that often.

New Start! But with a twist! We get one character from the previous game!

I liked this story for Quinn, it'd be a shame to throw away something that was starting to look good.
