tape [SCIENCE] - g0m - 05-02-2012 Science is a cool thing that lets us invent TV. To this end I am wrapping tape around different parts of my body and leaving it there. First I'm going to try a wrist and leave the tape there and I'll see what happens, and based on my results I'll proceed. Here's the kind of tape I'm using: It is electrical tape. I figure I can do a hypothesis later. Starting at approximately 13:13:50 IST. 13:15:50, two minutes into the experiment. I'm noticing some warmth around the tape, but no major difference. Meanwhile, my control hand (left hand) is p. much the same too. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - g0m - 05-02-2012 13:18:50, the tape has been on my wrist for five minutes. I might have felt something tickle but I think that was my breath when I looked at my hand. So far this experiment is inconclusive (scientific term) RE: tape [SCIENCE] - g0m - 05-02-2012 13:29:50 (16 mins in.) No real difference to the feeling in my hand, but I am now p.aware of some hair trapped under the tape. In another tape-related sociological experiment, I taped some coins to a wall and now I'm going to wait to see if someone takes them. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - g0m - 05-02-2012 13:50:10. No real differences with regards to the feeling in my hand, but appearance-wise it definitely seems to have grown. I'd guess 1, 2 mm? Comparing both hands there is a growing size difference. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - Solaris - 05-02-2012 Are we allowed to make out own Tape Experiments and speak about them here? I would be interested in doing some. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - g0m - 05-02-2012 14:03:50 and my hand is pretty much longer than I started by a cm. Something I wasn't expecting was that it isn't much proportionally wider or thicker, so my fingers have this weird, elongated appearance. Sort of like a pinker Salad Fingers, if anyone gets me. I would be interested in doing some.Of course, I love doing my part to support the scientific community! RE: tape [SCIENCE] - Jacquerel - 05-02-2012 make out tape experiments sound very interesting RE: tape [SCIENCE] - btp - 05-02-2012 g0m, what is the tapes current taughtness level? And have you considered that with only one piece of tape around a single arm, this is more of a case study than a real experiment. After all right arms and left arms are completely different arms! Not to mention that such results need to be reproducible. Is your tape arm reproducing? If it's scrabbling whatever cashmoneys it can by participating in dodgy medical experiments, I'd say it hasn't been taught much at all. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - Mehgamehn - 05-03-2012 Whoa whoa whoa whoa whooooooooaaaaaaaa Insult the tape all your want but Honest g0m's Guinea Pigatorium is not the least bit dodgy. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - g0m - 05-03-2012 13:13:50 on 3/5/2012. It has been 24 hours since I started the experiment. My right hand seems to be fading into nothingness above my wrist, although staring at the point where it shifts causes several bright dots to appear in the centre of my vision. Colour of dots: red, yellow. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - Jacquerel - 05-03-2012 Is your hand merely invisible or is it also intangible? RE: tape [SCIENCE] - AgentBlue - 05-03-2012 Iiiis your tape soaked in hallucinogens? RE: tape [SCIENCE] - Infrared - 05-03-2012 You should have your parents kiss in their prom dance maybe that will save you. RE: tape [SCIENCE] - ☆ C.H.W.O.K.A ☆ - 05-05-2012 next experiment |
