That Which Remains (Game started. Applications are always accepted) - Supernerd - 06-06-2016

Welcome to what little remains of the world. Time and space have been messed up pretty badly here. Even the game signup sheets have been destroyed, but perhaps they can be put back together? If enough people can contribute a part of a character application sheet then perhaps this world can still be saved!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

What would you say is your greatest weakness?

RE: That Which Remains (Needs more players) - Supernerd - 06-17-2016

Lets see what we have here.

We have a USERNAME option, which is super redundant because your username will become known the very instant you post the completed sheet. So I guess you have the option to create a character for someone else?

We have a NAME section. This will make it possible to differentiate between different characters. Sensible enough.

We have a GENDER section. Kind of. Sort of. Almost. Maybe. This might make reproduction difficult.

There is a RACE/SPECIES option. This means that there will be other people that are similar to yourself.

An AGE option, which means you will be affected by the flow of time in some way.

You will have an ICE CREAM FLAVOR. I guess this means you will have the flavor of ice cream.

There is an APPEARANCE field, which means you will be able to appear as something.

There is a WEAPONS/INVENTORY section. This means you are able to possess items and weapons.

There is a GREG option. Surely, this will be critical to the operation somehow.

You also have a SHORT BIOGRAPHY. This means that you have a past.

There is an OPERATING SYSTEM option. Perchance this has to do with... Operating... Systems...

There is a CLASS option. This will grant you a defining skillset.

There is a field for HOME REGION/PLANET. This means that places exist.

You have a HAT PREFERENCE. This means you can wear hats.

You have a FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE. This means you are able to hear things.

You have a PREFERRED SODA. This means you are able to drink things.

Also, there is a WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS? option. This means that you will have a future.

And a WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR GREATEST WEAKNESS field. This means you are probably screwed.

Something appears to be terribly wrong with the signup sheet. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is definitely a problem. This is evidenced by the fact that not a single person has been willing to actually fill it out!

Something will need to be done about this.

RE: That Which Remains (Needs more players. Zero is not enough) - a52 - 06-19-2016

Oh, I didn't realize that applications were open.

RE: That Which Remains (Needs more players. Zero is not enough) - Colby - 06-20-2016

Username: The Colby Report
Name: Edgar Turnt
Gender: ERROR GENDER NOT FOUND
Race/Species: Greebling
Age: 2
Ice Cream Flavor: Mint Chocalate Chip
Appearance: a small, light green, furry creature. Edgar has two little antennae and a short stubby tail. Wears buglike armor.
Weapons/Inventory: a broadsword (that may also be a fish) way too big for Edgar, that somehow is still able to be wielded by them.
Greg: Very Greg.
Short Biography: Edgar is either the last or first of their kind. Nobody seems to know what a Greebling is except that Edgar is one. He was found in a box labeled "DANGER: Greebling inside! Do not open!!!" so that might have helped the experts decide on what Edgar was.
Operating System: Raspberry Pie
Class (Warrior, rogue, engineer, etc): Warrior
Home region/planet: Earth maybe? He was found there.
Hat Preference: Beanies.
Favorite Music Genre: Polka
Preferred Soda: Root Beer
Where do you see yourself in five years?: With more greeblings, starting a greebling family.
What would you say is your greatest weakness?: Deathly afraid of bees.
Limbs: 4
Clones/Twins? (y/n): no :(
Spirit guide: crab lion
Blood Type: Q
Smells: like raspberries

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - Supernerd - 06-21-2016

Wow. Those characters made with the patchwork signup sheet sure are... Unique.

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - AgentBlue - 06-21-2016

Username: A
Name: Sliverslice
Gender: ERROR GENDER NOT FOUND
Race/Species: Parallelogram-shaped intrusion of another reality onto our own
Age: indeterminate
Ice Cream Flavor: Blood
Appearance: Sliverslice looks like an extremely oblong parallelogram or rhombus, made from some kind of... indeterminate color that approximates blue steel. Light does not reflect from it properly, and it casts no shadow. One end is ostensibly affixed to a nice mother-of-pearl knife handle, though neither end seem inclined to follow each other properly in time or causality.
Weapons/Inventory: Sliverslice is ostensibly a knife. People stabbed with it tend to lose entire organs, neatly sectioned out of their body, without any kind of exit or entrance wound. One time, a rival mob boss was denuded of his entire nervous system during a spat in negotiations. His eyes fell out of his empty head.
Greg: That's the mob boss currently wielding Sliverslice. For how long, only time will tell.
Short Biography: Did we not just talk about a mob boss who lost his nerve? All his nerves?
Operating System: Not our physical reality, that's for sure
Class (Warrior, rogue, engineer, etc): Dagger
Home region/planet: A plane of reality incomprehensible to ours
Hat Preference: Carved up into little ribbons, hatband shreds, and in one case an origami crane made out of a particularly shitty fedora
Favorite Music Genre: The sound of creative suffering
Preferred Soda: Diet Pepsi
Where do you see yourself in five years?: Still around.
What would you say is your greatest weakness?: Cold iron
Limbs: None
Clones/Twins? (y/n): You don't want another one of it
Spirit guide: Sharp things
Blood Type: All of them
Smells: Blood

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - Supernerd - 06-21-2016

I should probably not accept that last application because its such a blatant ripoff of a homestuck character. However the mental images in my head right now are just too silly to outright reject that mess.

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - Supernerd - 06-22-2016

I have looked at the applications made so far. While my game is going to be entirely text based, I just had to make MS paint doodles of the characters you guys made. Dirt isn't included here because I can't make a better picture of it than BananaPanda

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - ForestGardener - 06-22-2016

It's not a ripoff of a Homestuck character, it is a Homestuck character. And yes, the combinations so far do sound hilarious.

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - Supernerd - 06-24-2016

I have decided that the official method of deciding who gets to play is "All character applications are to be accepted no matter how shitty they are provided we have room."

I'll start this game as soon as someone expresses a desire to actually get this started.

RE: That Which Remains (Applications are open) - Colby - 06-24-2016

expresses a desire

RE: That Which Remains (Game started. Applications are always accepted) - Supernerd - 06-24-2016

Dirt, Edgar Turnt, Sliverslice, Sollux Captor and Greg find themselves on what appears to be an asteroid floating in space. In the distance, there are four planets. Planet Earth, Planet Wind, Planet Fire and Planet Water. There are also many other asteroids that you could hop to. The one you are currently on is empty but some of the asteroids have stuff on them.

The asteroids are constantly moving, and each turn the asteroids that you are able to hop to will be different. You may also attempt to perform a "Long Jump" which will let you decide what the asteroid you will land on will have on it... But Long Jumps can often fail which is almost always a bad thing.

Sometimes you will be in jumping range of a planet. You should refrain from doing so until you feel you are ready to handle some serious trials and stuff.

There are three asteroids you can hop to. A dungeon asteroid, a jungle asteroid and a riddle asteroid.

Dungeon asteroid please.

Dungeon's a true classic, its always good to start somewhere familiar.
