How to Solve a Bomb - Reyweld - 03-28-2016 LEVEL 1: Pie If the wire is red, cut the wire. (New stuff will go here, in order of introduction.) Else, don't cut the wire. BOMB: ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Ixcaliber - 03-28-2016 I approve of this thread let me know when you get up to the morse code modules RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gimeurcookie - 03-28-2016 Cut last 2 wires. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Reyweld - 03-28-2016 LEVEL 1: Diffused! LEVEL 2: Mission Possible If the wire is blue, look at the above wire. ----If the wire is red, don’t cut the wire. ----Else, cut the wire. BOMB: ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Robust Laser - 03-28-2016 Cut the first wire. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Dragon Fogel - 03-28-2016 Cut the top wire. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Akumu - 03-28-2016 Cut the first wire AND the second wire. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gimeurcookie - 03-28-2016 Cut first and second wire. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - ICan'tGiveCredit - 03-28-2016 cut all the wires so you can make a cool bracelet. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Reyweld - 03-28-2016 Is what would have happened, had you not also cut the second wire. LEVEL 2: Diffused! LEVEL 3: Your First Mistake A wire with multiple colours is considered all of those colours. ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Dragon Fogel - 03-28-2016 First and third. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Reyweld - 03-28-2016 LEVEL 3: Diffused! LEVEL 4: Order is Everything If the wire is green, don’t cut the wire. Look at the wire below. ----If the wire below is normally cut, DON’T CUT the wire below. ----Else, cut the wire below. ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gimeurcookie - 03-28-2016 Cut first and last wire. Edit: Wait no cut the first and 3rd wire. Edit Edit: You know what first and last wire it is. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Reyweld - 03-28-2016 (but you can still try again) RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gimeurcookie - 03-28-2016 Oh jeez I missed the part with the mixed wires whoops. Cut 1st wire. Cut 2nd wire. Cut 3rd wire. Cut 4th wire. (Or maybe it's cut everything but the 3rd) RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gatr - 03-28-2016 Cut only the first one. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Schazer - 03-28-2016 Do the rules have priority where the newest is the most important, when it comes to contradictions? RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Schazer - 03-28-2016 Ok uh so, 1st wire is definitely cut because it's blue and the "above wire" is not red. 2nd wire is not cut because it's green. 3rd and 4th wires depend on how the rule above wires below green wires is phrased. 1st+3rd and 1st+4th explode, so yeah I say Cut the 1st wire only RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gimeurcookie - 03-28-2016 Oh yeah that's a good question, what order is the priority because I'm starting to think I'm doing it backwards. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Dragon Fogel - 03-28-2016 So far, newest rules have overrided. The first rule was "only cut red", then the second rule allowed us to cut blue sometimes. First wire is cut because it's blue and has no red "above". Second wire is green, so it isn't cut. Third is red and blue. Since it counts as red, it would normally be cut, therefore it isn't because it's immediately below green. Fourth wire is blue. Wire above is blue and red, which means it counts as red. So this wire isn't cut. So: only cut the first wire. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Gatr - 03-28-2016 4th wire: no cut because red is above 3rd wire: it wants to be cut because its red, and doesnt have red above it, but green negates it. 2nd wire: no cut because it's green 1st wire: cut because no red above it. seems pretty clear-cut to me. i dont think priority should matter if you go through it both forwards and backwards. e: damn it, fogel beat me to explaining it. but yeah, he got it. ee: oh wait i think it should be clear that the first rule isnt "only red". in the OP, the "else, don't cut" is at the very end, and will remain at the very end. so, yeah, no overriding there either. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Schazer - 03-28-2016 Blaaargh for Level 2 at least (in conjunction with the rule about mixed colors), Red+Blue wires are red, so if there's a blue wire underneath the blue wire goes uncut. A Blue and Red wire will be cut, because it's Red, but what we don't know is what happens is there's a red wire above the red+blue wire. Quote:If the wire <n> is blue, look at the above wire <n-1>. <My additions> are the only way I think that works while still making grammatical sense. So then we have the Fourth Rule: Quote:If the <n> wire is green, don’t cut the <n, green> wire. Look at the wire <n+1> below. Green wire notwithstanding, Wire3 (n+1) would normally be cut, because it's red and the one above it isn't (no contradictions). Wire4 (n+2) would not normally be cut, because there's a red wire above it. Ok I have a headache now, someone sort this out for me RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Schazer - 03-28-2016 oooh ok I was beaten to it, also, yeah the OP makes more sense now that Gatr made me actually read it. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - Schazer - 03-28-2016 Quote:If the wire is red, cut the wire. Ok so each color rule is still only forcing you to refer to one wire out. This makes things appreciably less confusing. RE: How to Solve a Bomb - OTTO - 03-28-2016 You must be registered to view this content. |
