Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-10-2016

I just traded some stone blocks and wood for a llama and a hen.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-11-2016

Update: there are almost more humans than dwarves in my fortress, including a 16 year old maceman with a wife and child.

One of my dwarves is 102 years old, I expect them to die of old age.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Robust Laser - 01-11-2016

that is not a particularly noble death for a dwarf.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-11-2016

Alright, update:
  • I built a temple, to allow my dwarves pray to their many deities
  • My population is 57: 45 Dwarves (including a baby that was just born), and 12 humans.
  • I have four legends: A legendary miner, stonecrafter, mason and carpenter.
  • My fortress has 5 artifacts: Bearclam the earring, "Victory by the Farm"(110 page guide on the hamlet Icygarnished), "The Human In The Time Of My Ancestors" (essay on a scroll about an aprenticeship; "The writing could only have been produced by a merciful spirit and it is completely serious."), "For The Love Of Theaterdrills" (113 page guide about a hillock named "Theaterdrills"), and "The Mystery Of The Human" (14 page essay about the author being accepted into my fortress).

As soon as I unpaused the game another baby was born!

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-11-2016

A circus troop just joined my fortress, my population numbers are now:

71 people total
  • 46 Dwarves
  • 4 Elves
  • 2 Goblins
  • 19 Humans

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - SleepingOrange - 01-11-2016

I am goblin

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - ICan'tGiveCredit - 01-11-2016

i am goblin #2 and i request that the 102 year old dwarf be sent to BATTLE

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-11-2016

Can I make them a hunter? That's the most action they'll be getting for a while.

Also, done.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-11-2016

SleepingOrange, you killed 2 elves over 50 years ago.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - SleepingOrange - 01-12-2016

I am goblin

slayer of elves

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Schazer - 01-12-2016

Are there birds on your map? If so please start a breeding program for all of the birds.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-13-2016

A bunch of people are about to die:
  • A human hammerman and a human axeman who are in the hospital, "resting". They are both asleep, and neither has woken up in a while. Both are thirsty, but all of the lakes in the world just froze (from winter), and people won't give patients booze. So: they are going to die of thirst.
  • A dwarven diagnoser who has been possessed for quite a while. They haven't been eating or drinking, and for some reason they need thread but won't accept my llama wool thread. They are either going to go insane and then be put down, starve, or die of thirst.
  • Humans can die of old age anywhere between 60-120, and I have a 115 year-old human. (goblins and elves cannot die of old age, and dwarves live from 100-170 years)

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-13-2016

A MARSH TITAN ATTACKED!

37 have died, not including pets, and 20 more have been sent to the hospital. The really old dwarf was killed by a marsh titan.

Credit and SleepingOrange are both still fine, along with every other poet, dancer, writer and musician; the only people who didn't do anything to defend their lands or rescue the wounded.

We would have have a flawless victory, had it not been able to fly. If it couldn't fly, our weapons traps would have destroyed it, and I could have safely hid all of my people in the fortress.

More info coming soon.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-13-2016

One patient has died of dehydration.

I only have 9 people who I can assign jobs out of a fortress of 91. We're all going to die.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Schazer - 01-13-2016

Flying murdertitans totally count as birds. C'mon captive breeding program

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-13-2016

It's dead.

Also: 6ish people have been cleared from the hospital. Hooray for surgery!

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-13-2016

I caught a kea in a cage! In other news, 4 people have died (in the hospital) of dehydration, just as the icy lakes thaw.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - ICan'tGiveCredit - 01-13-2016

Feed them animal blood. blood has water in it, i'm pretty sure

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Reyweld - 01-14-2016

Everyone is thirsty. I have no wells (all destroyed), no plants (all eaten/used to make alchohol), no alcohol. I doubt the poets/singers/ect will survive. And by that, I mean I hope they die, and not my people who do work.

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - ICan'tGiveCredit - 01-14-2016

feed them the poets!!!!! they will die tragically! A Midsummer Night's DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - goblin's - 03-02-2016

hey does anyone here like the game dwarf's ortress?

its cool. you can get frustrated that you can't conceive of things in three dimensions very easily and then you accidentally the whole ocean

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - goblin's - 03-02-2016

did you know: ocean can move diagonal?

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - goblin's - 03-02-2016

I am sorry for the way I'm posting. I use dwarf therapist to manage my dwarves. I like to make a little village but I'm not good at urban planning or design and usually get too trigger-happy with big projects like making a safe little ocean-fed well in one of the workshop rooms ive made ..

RE: Hawkspace, meet Dwarf Fortress! - Schazer - 03-02-2016

don't feed the ocean, it's already stealing every last drop from the mouths of all those poor hardworking rivers

greedy son of a damn
