Retort back that that there are clearly seventeen ebony pieces on the board right now and only fifteen Ivory pieces. As long as your spy is active on the board, it should be draining one space out of Ebony's unit pool and freeing up an extra space for yourself.

Actually, only the lowly pawns are eligible to select for infiltration/spying roles, it says right there in the name! Es-peon-age.
