"L....lord of Aven?"

Thunderpaw was completely shell-shocked. Granted, one does not simply slay the most powerful person in all the land and not feel a reprocussion. Being granted formal leadership of one's homeland in his dying breath was something else altogether. The still brightly-dressed warrior could hardly think, let alone speak.

The best that could be mustered was a shaking of his head in response to the stone question. The now-lord barely knew what the crystals did, nevermind some stones he had found along the way.

Renzo slams his hammer into the ground, sending a ball of clay into the air. With a swing and a resounding smack, he lobs it over onto Mayor, before the clay solidifies and repairs the broken golem, healing him and raising his defense. "There you go old sport, a touch of the mud to pick you up."

Like a meteorite from the heavens, a woman falls from the from the skies trailing fire, violently striking the ground among the withering foliage. Though the fall should have broken bones, the woman staggers to her feet, leaking a viscous blue fluid from a multitude of wounds and ruptures scattered across her body - both her latex bodysuit and her very skin is in tatters, showing the ravaged steel beneath. Several of her limbs bent unnaturally and her left hand is missing entirely, the arm ending in a twisted metallic stump. Though her eyes are hidden behind a fracturing visor her expression is frozen into a grinning rictus snarl - the very expression of madness.

"Tz cavKzZzy kzKs arZkkZKd"

"Hush."
she whispers.

You spend some more time working on your carpet. Meanwhile, Sa'ron gives a short laugh as he embraces the fiery serpent, catching on fire. Before you can more than gape at the sight, the serpent grows explosively in size as Sa'ron is devoured by flames. Now towering over you and your companions, the great wyrm encircles you, trapping you inside a firewall formed from its own body! Sweltering heat assails you, burning Savannah, Watson, Renzo and Belarion for 364 damage! The withering hedges are devoured in wildfire in the blink of an eye, and the flame spreads to Renzo, setting him ablaze for 662 damage!

Bohw safely floated back down to the ground beside Thunderpaw, in some kind of daze as her madness left her and her senses returned, breathing black sparks of magic from her mouth as she touched down. There was only a moment of an empty calmness on her face, before another kind of madness filled over her in an flash, turning her gaze towards her friend and fully prepared to shout at him.

"Thunderpaw!" Bohw snapped, her voice pained as the rest of her senses caught up to her, remembering the blow she took from the king. "Our-- Our, friends... are in a bad state fighting these champions... we can't rest yet." With a sigh, Bohw gritted through the pain and shook her head, taking the longbow off her back and drawing the string as far as she could pull it to gather energy for a charged attack. In the hand that Bohw was holding the longbow with, she curled out her fingers to reveal the gemstone that was handed to her when he showed up, riding a dragon no less, still clutching onto it tightly like a treasured memento. "Do you know what this does?"

While Bohw takes aim, Mayor is desperately trying to defend himself against the power-fueled blows Enzu is raining down upon him even as Mayor tries to escape. Though Mayor cleared a path with his beam of power, that can only take him so far before the rubble of the great tower that fell here blocks his path again. Even fending off Enzu's blows as best as he can (231)(17+5), even the magically-reinforced shield does not stop the energy blastwaves from washing over Mayor, crashing and crackling over his armor for 848 damage.

From across the courtyard, the dimly-remembered woman points at you with her arm stump.

"TzZrget DesikZzte: Entity 'Thunderpaw' ZKkzK"

Then she leaps into the air, almost seeming to hover as she unleashes a barrage of magical projectiles and energy beams on you, bombarding you for 245, 420 and 403 damage! Bohw is caught in the crossfire, taking 473 damage.

She then falls into a dive on a collision course with you!

You heal Mayor for 446 health, also raising his defense by 3, using a hammer you suddenly had in the process of doing so! Regardless of the mysterious origins of your hammer, Mayor seems to appreciate your efforts, which to be fair is no great surprise considering that he is being chased around by a power-wielding madman.

Belarion turns and swipes at the fiery elemental. However, the fire itself twists away from the blow, avoiding it altogether! (Hit 4+5 Vs Defense 9+3)

Watson stares blankly at the informal inferno that that man had THE GALL to conjure up. Does he never learn?

A more worrying concern is that HIS CARPET WILL BURN. Watson hurriedly puts out the flames and stores it in his pocket.

"Why, now I regret ever asking!" Watson says as he raises the Starmetal majestically and then makes several jabs and swipes at the man ensconced in his mental palace of fire. Watson also makes it a point to mana-leap out of the way of the flames this time... rather than standing there dumbfounded and on fire after innocently asking someone to partake in arts and crafts.

"This is what I get for showing mercyyyy!" he says with an undignified 'harumph!'.

Renzo places his hammer back into his bag because that is obviously where he got it and where he keeps all his other weird art tools why are you questioning this do you not understand art.

He holds his hand out, framing the battlefield, looking for his next subject. "Why, it seems Renzo is feeling inspired today!"

"Fuckin'... I hate fire..." Savannah, wind howling around her, raises her arms. "I HATE FIRE!" The blizzard whips faster around her, snow and sleet and hail growing colder and larger even as the fireball rages around her.

"You stupid, fire-spinning, son of a-" Her swear is cut off by the blizzard closing in around her, then blasting out in a sudden frozen explosion. Savannah absorbs the power of her sheltering blizzard, using its power to amplify the strength of her icy onslaught.

Bohw shrieked as she was struck, almost collapsing on the spot as she staggers about and does her best to hold onto the bow charge. She turned skywards to face to offender, returning fire with her own barrage of projectiles that would hopefully cover their retreat. "Get up! Get up!" She cried, grabbing Thunderpaw's hand as she yanked him to his feet and hopefully out of range of the soon to be crash site.

Bitterly, Mayor wanted to delay fighting this person as long as possible, if not for the fact that they were a friend, but also for the fact that he knew he wouldn't win. The fact that it was some fake copy or twisted form of them made it easier to go against them. Something was up, this new, humanoid form of them must of been hurting them, the golem turning on his heels to face him. Charging forwards at the pursuing Enzu, Mayor used his sheer size to seize them and grapple them to the floor, hoping to delay them for as long as possible for help to arrive.

...the battle didn't end with the king's death!?

Thunderpaw instinctively...gets dragged out of the battle by Bohw in a retreat maneuver, drawing the little energy he still had remaining into a Blade-tipped arrow. Shock and intrigue would have to wait; there was still business to take care of here. He would fire his Blade Arrow of Light towards the mysterious stump lady, baffled at where she even came from or how one so disfigured would be putting up so much of a fight.

Winds of Fate was first, so I think that takes priority. And I think the double heal would be more useful anyway.

also im going to point out that blade of light is one of those things that cannot be copied, like hellbent, because reasons

You find no trace of the man Sa'ron save for a few ashes that are quickly scattering on the breeze! Instead you slash at the fire elemental, your blade lighting up with a dim glow as you swing it. But the fire seems to twist around your blow, moving with your motion until you, with inspiration from the rhythm of Thunderpaw's wordless song, jank your blade downward and through the flames, which sputter and hiss at the touch of your weapon. Your attack deals 827 damage! (Roll 20+7)(Hit 5+5+4 Vs Defense 9+4)

You then leap over the fiery serpent with a boost from your manacharge leapers and land on the other side, now separate from your allies but atleast not trapped in the center of the fire wall. You still get burned from sheer proximity to the elemental, though. You, Savannah, Belarion and Renzo take 387 damage.

Between the hedge's rapid withering and the flames consuming everything they touch, your magic is rapidly fading as the once-garden turns into a wasteland. Despite that, you gather your power and let loose an explosion of icicles and bone-chilling wind! The fiery serpent, poised to strike, is caught completely offguard as icy spears lance through its ephemeral body, shredding through the fiery curtain that makes up its form and then extinguishing it entirely with a blast of chilling wind, having dealt a total of 1962 damage! (roll 10+8). Maybe turning into something so easily extinguishable wasnt such a hot idea.

It seems you are not entirely rid of the fellow, though. One of the blazes still raging farther off flares with intensity, then somehow starts coalescing, taking the shape of a man as the very flames morph into brimstone, then flesh and bone. It takes only a moment before Sa'ron is restored, just as he was before being consumed by the inferno, fiery wyrm tattoo and all. The fire extinguishes, and he then immediately faceplants the ground.

"They are gone again, I'zith. Heh. We... surrender."

Meanwhile, Renzo is still on fire, and the fire seems to have spread to you, setting you ablaze for 383 damage! Great.

As Enzu is winding up for another barrage of attacks, Mayor seizes the opportunity to tackle him, throwing the both of them to the ground. Enzu resists the grapple at first, but then goes still.

"You do have it." he states, surprisingly calmly.

Then Mayor finds himself suddenly flung across the ground as Enzu reverses the lockhold he was in with magic-fueled strength. Before Mayor has a chance to recover, Enzu rips a section of Mayor's breastplate open, carelessly discarding the plate panel as he gingerly lifts a small antler from the compartment within, admiring it as he holds it aloft before him.

As you invoke the winds of fate, it seems that Nehron has come to check on you! He floats up beside you, peering at you as you craft the spell.

Then, just as you are about to cast it, he makes a simple gesture and you feel the power of the spell leaving you... And then the winds form, and they are wrong, completely out of your control, violently seizing upon you and practically throwing you to the ground, where you crash for 560 damage! The wind then heals Nehron, Enzu and Corvid for 333 health!

You spot a most interesting debacle across the battlefield. Studying the flows of magic, you see how they would give dominion over the very wind. If that is not an adequate artistic subject, the elusive wind itself, you dont know what is. And so you cast the same flows, finishing just as a cacophonous howling arises, your winds sweeping across the battlefield in contrast to the other wind, similar yet opposite, healing your allies for 1065 health! (Roll 20+6, crit)

"Oh." Nehron remarks as he descends beside Myra on the opposite side of the battlefield. "Thats clever."

As Bohw drags you off, the woman, still in the skies, cries out, "MekzKlchalad!", to which a bolt of lightning arcs down from the heavens in response, striking her outstretched hand. In that moment, Bohw's arrow pierces her abdomen, penetrating through her, the arrow emerging splintered and broken on the other side, causing 840 damage (roll 9+5+6), followed shortly by a new gush of viscous blue fluid. The woman convulses in the air, descending to crash to the ground where you stood moments ago, striking the ground with her fist in the same motion to cause an explosion of lightning around the impact site, setting the remaining foliage ablaze around the small crater formed by her landing. Instead of staying down as something sane might have, she rises just as you let loose your own arrow, becoming a blur of motion as she narrowly evades your attack, closing in on you with terrifying speed. (Hit 18+6+4 Vs Defense 30)

In the blink of an eye it takes her to cross the distance between you and her, she fires two bolts of power, one at you and one at Bohw, striking you for 350 and 467 damage, respectively. Then she is on you, slashing and stabbing with the vicious claws on her right hand and the twisted stump of her left, dealing an additional 350 damage to you.

If not for the winds of fate itself, you would both have been dead.

---

Belarion glances around the battlefield, looking for anyone else in need of a beating up. He dismisses both Nehron and Enzu... But then he sees the new arrival.

"Run, you mortal fools! Go, NOW! You will find the hidden caverns beneath the crumbled tower!" he roars as he charges the comparatively diminutive Corvid, the ground shaking beneath his passing.

The beauty of the winds brings a tear to Renzo's eye. Daring not to wet his glorious mustache, he sniffles. "It is no shame, to weep at beauty." Overwhelmed by emotions, he throws a jar of glaze at Bohw and Thunderpaw, letting it break open on them, and increasing their speed to allow them to keep up with this mysterious woman.

"Jeez..." Savannah wipes her brow, glaring at the fires still raging and Sa'ron flopping onto the ground like a dead fish. She doesn't have time for this.

"Shut up and go, psycho. You can cry later." Savannah butts Renzo in the back with her shoulder towards the remains of the tower and prepares to follow him. However, she catches sight of Sa'ron, still imitating a beached whale, and grumbles. "The things I do..."

"Hey." Savannah stands over Sa'ron, glaring down at him. Her hair shimmers with melting ice crystals, spear at the ready. "Am I gonna have to beat your ass again if I help you get up, or are we gonna do this the easy way?"

Watson jaunts to the old ruins like a person who has the slightest sense in his cerebrum to escape.

He then raises his finger, with a puzzled expression. Before dashing off he turns to see that they are without one of their ensemble and that a man with constellation decorations on his face is MAKING OFF WITH MAYOR'S ANTLER?!?!?!?!?!?!? He had no idea a golem would sport such a piece of animal headwear anywhere on his body. Or he forgot what it was for in the first place.

Regardless, HOW DARE HE MISAPPROPRIATE A PRECIOUS PIECE OF ANIMAL TROPHY AFTER ALL. That man must meet the jaws of justice, and justice, thy name is Starmetal.

"You, there!" Watson points to the golem, "bear it rightly!"

Watson throws a large, sharp piece of justice, and then dashes off, a ray of alizarin light trailing behind him while the sword is still spinning in the air. He can only hope that Mayor grips it and swings it to full force towards Enzu's smug mug.
