I am not happy seeing a conversation brought up here that got so heated that I felt the need to cut it off.

If you still feel the need to talk about it, I think it would be better to do so privately.

i skipped two classes and drove five hours to vote because i couldn't get my absentee ballot. they were only an hour and a half away, and even without a car i don't think it would have been unreasonable for them to ask their parents to drive them there. they just didn't care that much about voting

that's bullshit, he's won states. he won michigan in particular because of young people turning out; it was a huge upset because nobody expected anyone under 30 to vote.

no. it hasn't.

have you not been paying attention to the debates? clinton will take the party rightwards. she's open about this during the primary

and that "some portion" is about 80% of everyone under 30

which is pretty much everyone that might have shifted leftwards, since cable news more or less pretends sanders doesn't exist

most of the local elections where i voted weren't even contested. i don't think there's going to be any change in downticket races, at least not in solidly conservative rural areas (which make up most of the country)

sanders had a shot until last tuesday.

and it's wrong to say the left generally hasn't won historically when things like minimum wage exist

and unions used to be a thing

acting like shit's constantly hopeless and defending inaction isn't helpful, at all, so fuck off with that
