You stay quiet, listening to the two kobolds. They’re both named Kilian. It’s mostly small talk, and you tune out.
One shoots the other with sparks and you jump in.
“Hey! We’re all adventurers here. No infighting!”
The spark caster yipped in alarm, “Ack! A ghoul!” They look at your instrument with a curiosity.
“A bard?” the one blasted with sparks says. “Interesting. I always thought undead were savage creatures, incapable of culture.”
As if to prove yourself, you begin to tune your guitar.
“Well, as long as you don’t bite us, you’re welcome to come. Although, I’d prefer you stay in the front. I’m not sure I trust you.” The sparks Kilian flared their nostrils.
“As I was saying,” continued the other Kilian, “I came here for The Treasure. had heard rumors about it in my university, so I decided to take a break from my book learning and explore the world! ...
… Y'Know? Powerful."
"Oh, haha, wow! You know, that's a bit of a coincidence, since it's the same for me."
The sparks Kilian looks at the other Kilian.
"Have you heard of doppelgangers?"
You feel the urge to cast Dancing Thorns, but see no targets. You prepare to cast it none the less.
