Shows what I know! Re: Music - GreyGabe - 10-09-2011 My musical tastes aren't quite all-encompassing but I like a lot of different stuff. I've been listening to a lot of Deastro's stuff lately, though: Linky. If you liked that he actually released a couple of albums for free on his blog. That was... Over here. Also Tom Waits. Dat voice... like a long stretch of bad road... like being treed by a pack of hungry coon hounds... like coming home at the end of a long winter day, to find nothing there to warm you but a cheap bottle of bourbon. But... you know. In a good way. Boop. Re: Music - Schazer - 10-12-2011 This week on "Schazer plugs her silly New Zealand bands": Re: Music - Woffles - 10-12-2011 Speaking of New Zealand bands, Schaze, have you heard of The Chill? They're pretty coo'. Also I finally had Bang Bang Eche grow on me. Took me a while but now I really like them. Please never stop with the bands. Re: Music - Schazer - 10-15-2011 Ok, so I just went out tonight on one of those "last nights out before knuckling down for exams", and went to the campus pub (about a block away, god I'm going to miss the convenience of living a short walk away from everythin') to see Tommy Ill. Fan. Fucking. Tastic. Loved the stuff off the new album (whose release will be even more hotly anticipated than my scholarship paychecks), had a load of fun with all the old tracks which I yelled most of the lyrics to. I regrettably cannot link the new shit due to the fact it has neither been released on single or released on double or any other method of getting other people's mitts on it, but rest assured I'm going to lambast all of yeh's with that shit at the earliest possible provocation. Aaaaand now I'm off to sleep and presumably get cramming for exams once I'm done lamenting my overindulgence of cheap coffee liqueur, bouncing up and down, beer, indie rap, loudly reciting indie rap, and energy drinks tomorrow morning, but I'll leave you with more Tommy Ill music in case you hadn't had enough of my extolling's already: Free downloads of EPs here and here. Re: Music - illisid - 10-25-2011 I love way too much music. I'm just going to post as much different stuff and STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO LISTEN TO ALL OF IT (ps most of it will be instrumental or instrumentally oriented) Re: Music - illisid - 10-27-2011 Woffles Wrote:Don't mind me. Is this you? Cause this is really cool. I facebookshared it! also I feel bad doubleposting but the last post was long enough ago I feel like this wouldn't get seen. Re: Music - Woffles - 10-28-2011 I wish that was me! I'm afraid not though. Casey got recommended to me by good ol' michi, you probably remember her. ...I actually might just check with her if she'd be interested in Eagle Time. Re: Music - GreyGabe - 11-03-2011 The Vaccines are pleasurable to my earholes. Also: Fierce Creatures I have to be very careful in this thread. If I'm not I'll use up all of my download allowance listening to music. Re: Music - Woffles - 11-04-2011 Hey hey hey hey heeeeey! New coldplay album! Re: Music - Not The Author - 11-05-2011 Fuck this guy Re: Music - Pinary - 11-08-2011 What the heck is this modern garbage you kids are listening to. You need some good proper music. Also check out this cover of a remix of a classical song, it's pretty kickin'. Re: Music - GreyGabe - 11-08-2011 Oh, man, Blues Brothers is like, one of my top ten favorite movies! This next thing is totally unrelated to that though. Re: Music - btp - 11-09-2011 Guys I love music in spanish. Also I recently bought some Bellanova. Here you can have some too Re: Music - Infrared - 11-11-2011 Bellanova is kind of cool yeah! I don't give a shit about mainstream hipster bullshit but it is annoying that this shit became too mainstream and i got sick of hearing everyone signing these songs Re: Music - Not The Author - 11-11-2011 Oh right, I'm doing that semi-relevant thing that some of you will probably care about wherein I look around for the soundtrack for the Grand Battle video game series. I'm open to suggestions both for songs and titles - the ones in place are mostly for organizational purposes. It's very much a work in progress, and not one I'm actively working on, but have what crap I got anyway. Battle!! Lutherion Maw *If you're wondering what in the hell Photographer is doing in possession of this piece, a Grand Battle!! track assumes a Destined Battle and/or worst-case scenario. Here, Photographer probably managed to get his hands on the torc, and is having a Nightmare containing Umbra. Or some other suitably Everyone's Fucked situation. Mostly, I thought the lyrics fit the whole dream-world theme, but in hindsight I think I may have judged this one a bit too quickly. I like Antoine's theme okay so sue me ALSO while we're on the subject of Hasty Decisions Made At Two-Inna-Morning Encounter!! Wardell Paraswon Re: Music - Infrared - 11-11-2011 Are you guys really making a grand battle video game? Re: Music - Dragon Fogel - 11-11-2011 Not really, although some ideas have been thrown about along those lines. This is just gathering hypothetical music for a hypothetical game. If we want to get serious about what such a game would be like, it'd probably be best to make another thread for it. Re: Music - Not The Author - 11-11-2011 I say "video game" because the format I'm collecting music in more closely matches that of a game than, say, a movie - area themes, character themes, and battle themes rather than trying to match a song to each individual event. Slightly more generic, maybe, but probably easier to manage. The game itself is totally hypothetical at this point. Anyhowsabout s'more rave dance tunes, courtesy of Fogel Battle!! Zeke And then some others I just remembered Battle!! Vyrm'n Re: Music - btp - 11-14-2011 Dear Owl City, I really enjoy your hopeful happy tracks and heavily autotuned (melodyned?) voice but COME ON sometimes you just don't make any damn sense. I mean seriously: THE HELL? Are you just saying words because they sound nice? (I think you are!) What is a caterpillar concert hall? what does that have to do with a yacht club? Now I appreciate that some of your subtle christian lyrics put aspects of my worldview into song-form (who doesn't love it when that happens?) but maybe if you could maybe try make lyrics that are a tad more coherent? I know you have a thing going here with this slap-dash poetry and I respect that, but it makes it really hard to understand what you are saying. Of course I'll still listen to it dozens of times, maybe it will make sense then (it won't). Yacht Club: Re: Music - Woffles - 11-20-2011 can I be a hipster here? Re: Music - Pick Yer Poison - 11-20-2011 I don't really have a specific genre that I always like music from, although I refuse to listen to opera, death metal, or anything that's close enough that I confuse it with them. Both of them are basically just people screaming on stage, one's just a lot more hoarse and involves more violent lyrics. To be honest, a lot of what I actually listen to really just ends up being video game songs that I liked while hearing them ingame. But here's some other ones I like! I've been a fan of Muse for a while, and yes, I got into them when they became mainstream. I'm not a hipster, I'll listen to music if I think it's good. :3 Their music can be pretty varied, but I've liked most of their songs that I've listened to. I've found myself enjoying Relient K recently. They've got a pretty neat lineup, at least in the album I'm listening to, but I particularly like this one. Re: Music - btp - 11-20-2011 oh man PyP, mmhmm was my jam back in highschool. Probably one of the few music albums I actually purchased. I still find myself singing High of 75 in the shower every now and again. |
