There's only one. It looks like someone took a large amount of dirt and packed it into the frame. Reaching out, that's exactly what it is. No one seems to notice as you chip a couple bits away from the painting.

You figure that you could talk about watching TV or reading a magazine that had some telling personality test in it, but you don't think it's the right time for that. You doubt anyone is going to confront you about being a couple minutes late.
