DP: Why do I have to prove anything?
DP: why don't *you* prove you're my brother, huh?
HN: I wasn’t the one 13 hours late for our meeting.
DP: ...
DP: Fine.
DP: Just remember.
DP: You asked for it.
HN: ...
DP: I know you're Derrick Willford, age 15.
DP: (No middle names!)
DP: your birthday is December 23rd, same as me.
DP: (But I'm like twenty minutes older and that makes me the alpha twin).
DP: Your favourite snack is marshmallows.
DP: (Same as mine!)
DP: Your pesterchum handle is hallowedNightmare
HN: ....
DP: Oh wait, that's too 'easy' right?
DP: 'something only my sister would know' I believe is what you said?
DP: Hooooow about the fact you got that handle based on that ultra-edgy, thinly veiled self-insert OC you called 'Nightmare', that you wrote stories about when we were kids.
HN: ...
HN: What does 'OC' mean?
DP: And you'd write these emo ass stories about him being so cool and powerful and had like huge ass sword.
HN: Okay, first of all, fuck you, I was like 6.
HN: Second of all, you took over the story, then made your own character who had had barbed wire whip chains, you can't judge *anyone*.
DP: Or how about when you decided you looked cool in that huge moon shirt and stripped shorts so that's literally all you would wear.
HN: (You can stop now, I believe you.)
DP: And since you didn't want to change into anything else, mom had to buy you like 9 more of the exact same shirt and pants.
DP: School called asking why you wore the same clothing for like 2 months in a row, brother.
HN: I said you could stop!
DP: Or how about when you bugged the hell out of dad to buy you that poster of the monster in the woods and he didn't want to because he knew it'd scare you.
DP: And mom and I told him 'don't do it, he's gonna get scared'.
HN: Okay, enough.
DP: And sure enough, night *0*.
DP: 'Hey sister, can I sleep in your room?'
DP: 'The entity came out of the poster and said he'd eat my soul.'
HN: IT WASN'T LIKE THAT.
DP: That's right, I'm pretty sure you were crying.

Garreth: Teacher’s coming.
Alice: Oh.
You quickly log off and go back to the page you were supposed to be working on.
The teacher passes you by, and you pretend to be very deeply concentrated in what you are doing. Thankfully code naturally looks like button smashing anyway, so your screen is nice and appropriately filled. The teacher passes you by without incident.

Alice:Thank you.
Garreth: No problem.
Garreth: But you probably shouldn’t be pestering someone in the middle of class, unless it’s something really important…
That’s a good point, you were lucky the teacher didn’t see you playing around in class, computer studies is a class you have no particular interest in and usually scrape by. Also, you’ll be home in like an hour.
On the other hand, Derrick was being particularly bitchy today, and you could always just ask Garreth to keep an eye out while you continue to chat- though considering what he just said, he may not be on board with this.

DP: I got off because I'm in class, I shouldn't even be talking to you right now.
DP: At least that's what my smarty-pants brother would say.
HN: Ugh.
DP: Hmm, you're sounding less and less like the real deal, maybe you should prove your identity after all!
HN: Sure thing, sister.
HN: Should I start by dragging 15 years worth of *your* embarrassing shit up?
DP: Hahahahaha!
DP: Nope! We are good <:
DP: I'll talk to you when I get home, ok?
HN: I may be a bit late, I have some things to do before I get home.
DP: Like what?
DP: You have a social life or something?
DP: Shame on you brother , making friends and not introducing them to your dear, sweet sister?
HN: Hospital.
DP: Oh.
HN: And then buy some things for home.
DP: Groceries?
HN: Sure.
DP: ...Annnnyway-
DP: When are you gonna come and cook for me?
DP: I'm out of frozen meals Derrick.
DP: It's just me and canned cream of mushroom.
DP: I'm too classy for this kind of life.
HN: How about you learn to cook for yourself.
DP: I like it better when someone shows me their love by doing things for me <:
HN: Don't you have classes to attend?
DP: Yeeeah, but not really feeling them.
HN: You don't really go to school to 'feel' classes.
DP: And that's why I'd drop out if I could.
HN: Go back to class and pay attention.
DP: It may be my real brother after all...!
HN: You rotten sister.

Alice: Like, a real life letter?
Lexii: Yep!
Alice: People still write in paper?
Lexii: We do in my family!
Lexii: Emails and text messages are amazing at getting things out fast, but there's something about a handwritten letter that you can't get out of them…
Lexii: Some extra effort and meaning, don't you think?
Alice: ...I suppose!
Alice: Still, that wasn't a lot of errands.
Lexii: Yeah, but I hate going to the dry cleaner, the lady's so crabby and there's always a million people in line, and waiting's boring.
Lexii: So thanks for coming along! I loved the company.
Alice: No problem, I had a good time~

Lexii: But doesn't it get to be *too* edgy sometimes?
Alice: 'Too edgy' depends entirely on the reader.
Alice: If I don't like where a story's going, I drop it.

You do have that sweater to finish, and you think with some dedication you might be able to get it done by tonight. Unfortunately knitting allows you to think without interruption, and with all that's happened today, it's natural your path down memory lane is a dark one.
